Doors Open Niagara 2009 will take place on October 17 & 18, 2009
Most sites are open both days from 10am to 4pm, but there are exceptions.

The first 500 visitors to the Ontario Travel Information Centre at Hwy 420 and Stanley Avenue in Niagara Falls, Ontario to get their “Key to Niagara” key fob and participate in a special Doors Open historic downtown Queen St. Niagara Falls tour, will be eligible for entry to win a an overnight stay for 2 at the beautiful Keefer Mansion Inn including dinner, breakfast and a $50.00 Spa gift certificate.

As a special treat, Balzac's will feature a book reading by local native Cathy Marie Buchanan from her book "The Day the Falls Stood Still" on Saturday, October 17 at 5:00pm and on Sunday, October 18 at 2:00pm.
"Steeped in the intriguing history of Niagara Falls, The Day the Falls Stood Still is an epic love story as rich, spellbinding and majestic as the falls themselves." Her talk will focus on the story/history behind the book and will include some gorgeous historical pictures. Copies of her book will also be available for sale.

The winning 2008 Doors Open Niagara Photography contest photos are currently on display at the St. Catharines Lock 3 Museum until September 27, 2009. At that time the display will move to the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, New York and will be on view from October 2 to November 15, 2009.
