Built in 1990, St. Catharines Museum, in the Welland Canals Centre at Lock 3, interprets local, canal and Underground Railroad history through exhibits, guided or self-guided tours and videos.  Visitors can view the Fourth Welland Canal in live operation from the elevated viewing platform on site and learn about our sports history at the co-located Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum.

“Our purpose is to collect, preserve, research, exhibit and interpret artifacts and archival records, along with their associated information relative to the history of St. Catharines and the Welland Canals.  We want to share our heritage, preserve our past and celebrate our diverse community”
