This is the third lighthouse to be located on this site, the entrance to the third Welland Canal. A lighthouse has been on this site since 1852, with the current one constructed in 1898.  Features include a unique view of the Port Dalhousie harbour from the fourth floor and visible cross-hatch construction.  Restored by local volunteers in 2000, the lighthouse is open to the public.
